Iran’s “A Light in the Fog” shines at Bulgarian filmfest

TEHRAN, Sept. 8 (MNA) -- The award-winning Iranian film “A Light in the Fog” by Panahbarkhoda Rezaii won a Golden Aphrodite at the Love is Folly International Film Festival in Varna, Bulgaria.

The film is about Rana, a widow who lives in a rustic house with her aging father. She wavers between hoping for the return of her lover Habib while she is also considering a marriage proposal from a distant neighbor Rahmat.

The film competed against twelve other films from different countries, including Bulgaria, France, Romania, Russia and Denmark at the festival, which was held from August 27 to September 2.

“A Light in the Fog” won several awards at the Golden Minbar International Muslim Film Festival and went on screen at several renowned festivals including Pusan, Edinburgh and Asia-Pacific.

Iran’s “Last Queen” won the Grand Prix of the festival last year.
